Thought of the Day!

I was reading an interesting aritcle by Gai Eaton and although the whole article was very interesting I thought to share this comment with you all... lol who you all are is very few as is evident with the almost non existent comments lol but its cool for anyone who feels to be enlightened read the words of wisdon ahead.... Gai Eaton on anger...bismillah....

'Anger is a form of drunkenness. Alcohol is prohibited because it makes us drunk but we often forget that there are many forms of drunkenness and they all have something in common. The drunkenness of anger is just as misleading as the drunkenness of alcohol. It is just as liable to upset judgement, to make us incapable of effective action, because effective action relies on sober judgement. In practice, those who are seized by such anger, lose logic and rationality. They become ineffectual and less effective in achieving their ends.'

I like your blog sister :-)

Which bookshop do you work at? Do you know of any decent shops in Wembley or near there?

Jazaka'Allahu Khayr alhamdulillah you like it!
When you mean decent shops do yous mean bookshops? If so I know there is a book shop called Al Haq I think its on Ealing rd just down the rd from the masjid near the top... also from Wembley park station you could get the met line into central only 2 stops and go to Regents park masjid where there is another bookshop and on the way to the masjid from Baker st there are 2 more book shops one on park road (same rd as the masjid) and one on melcombe st just off baker st. There are also many good bookshops in East London...If your looking for clothes too then try ZamZam on
Upton Park. If you come out of Upton Park tub station turn left and walk for about 20 seconds and you cant miss it!
Keep checking the blog for any updates and leave comments!

That is so True What Gai Eaton had to say about anger . I Never thougth of it that Way before but what he said was so wise. We are told if you are angry to make wudu and if you are standing to sit down. You loose all self control. Their is another bookshop in wembley by the triangle

I really like the stuff Gai eaton writes. His view on things is very informative and he has a nice way of summing things up mashaAllah.
Also the thing with anger, you know when disciplining kids, one shouldn't do it out of anger and if they are angry with their kids, they should get away from the kids until they calm down and then discipline them to benefit the child not to satisfy the nafs. Plus if you think about it, all the times you've been angry have u ever gotten any good from it....I certainly havn't. Islam as is commonly said is a WHOLE WAY OF LIFE and this is a proof, that we have to be in submission even throughout blinding anger, takes a strong person...

Anger is one of those things few people realise is a major problem like Gai Eaton says when he compares it to being drunk on alcohol as the end result is the same... you act with out thinking properly, say things you may not mean, act violently...and as Humble Muslimah said when you are angry the advice of the prophet is to sit down and then lie down... also the prophet (saw) said that anger comes from Shaytan, Shaytan is made from fire and fire is put out by water so when you are angry go and make wudu!
